12/26/2015 0 Comments Guest postThank you very much, Georgia, for hosting me.
Today I want to talk a little bit about reading. It’s a well-known fact that reading makes you a better writer, and often just a better person in general. ;) It expands your horizons and introduces you to new ideas, which is always a good thing. I wanted to share some of my favorite lesser-known books today. I highly recommend all of these books and suggest you check them out and add them to your to-be-read list. The first book on my list is Holes by Louis Sachar. This is an older book but it’s a delicious read. It melds time and generations beautifully in a sweet, satisfying tale. The description is enough to make you want to read the book again and again, and the story is equally mesmerizing. It’s a heartwarming story that you will want to share with everyone. Amazon Link Book number two is The Mind’s Eye by K.C. Finn. This paranormal historical fiction will make you feel. The characters are real and leap off the pages right into your heart. The plot is carefully crafted and the surrounding writing is excellent. Be forewarned—you may desperately want to read the sequel after devouring this thrilling story. Amazon Link The third book is The Gauguin Connection by Estelle Ryan. A well-thought, extremely smart mystery crosses paths with a detective so witty and brilliant she should be considered in the ranks with Sherlock Holmes. Ryan’s characterization is fantastic and she calls attention to the non-neurotypical minds, so often misunderstood by the rest of the world. Once you finish this book, you need not be sad that it’s over as it is only the first of a fabulous series. Amazon Link Last but not least, the fantasy romance Deceived by L.A. Starkey. This tale is a fascinating mix between modern fantasy and Greek mythology. The author’s takes on mythological beings like the Fates will captivate your interest as you weave your way through this story. The main character is relatable, and you will find yourself walking with her in her adventures. This book is part of a series as well, with three books in total. Amazon Link I hope you enjoy these books as much as I do. Happy reading! -H.R. Kasper 12/26/2015 0 Comments The Rocky Horror StoryOK, this was by far the weirdest movie I HAVE EVER SEEN, and I've seen a lot of movies. The best way I can describe it is a so:
A couple named Brad and Janet are driving along a road when they get a flat tire, so they have to walk a few miles in the rain to this castle. There they find a bunch of transvestites, singing and dancing. The whole movie is about these sexually confused people living in an abandoned castle in the middle of nowhere wanting to have sex with this person the leader created to be his boyfriend. There are so many weird scenes with murder, cheating, and half the time I knew what was going on but at the same time I had no idea. I seriously think the director of this may have been drunk or high when writing this because, oh god it was weird. I honestly only suggest it, if you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else to watch, and to watch it with someone who has already seen it because other wise it will be hard to understand. 12/23/2015 0 Comments Happy Holidays!Hey Guys! I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas eve?! It feels like yesterday was the first day of school! So far this holiday has been pretty successful I have read three books so (including one audiobook) my skiing trip has sadly been cancelled because here in america IT HAS NOT SNOWED. I know crazy right, this time last year there was about two feet on the ground and this year there isn't even frost on the ground. Also where I live it will be 65 degrees on Christmas day. I will be going hiking instead and we will be staying there for two days. What are you guys doing for Christmas or what did you do for Hanukkah or what ever you celebrate, I hope you have or had a happy holidays!
12/21/2015 0 Comments Awkward Reading?Hey guys! So I was watching youtube yesterday, and i saw a video on awkward reading. I personally have never had a book I was embarrassed of, but i feel really bad for guys because I'm sure they get a bunch of crap for it. The only book actually I was worried someone would judge me for was Twilight. I was read Twilight in January or February of 2014 and I loved it but I was always worried the boys in my class would give me crap about it. Do you guys have books you're embarrassed about? Comment them down below :)
